Drawing on more than three decades of international travel as a Hall of Fame golfer, Ernie Els developed a deep appreciation for some of the finest wines across the globe. This passion led to the founding of Ernie Els Wines in 1999.
Set in a prime location within Stellenbosch’s renowned Golden Triangle, the winery enjoys sweeping views—stretching westward toward Cape Town and Table Mountain, and eastward across Stellenbosch and the Helderberg Mountains.
Since opening its doors in 2005, the estate has focused on producing a diverse collection of wines, with a strong emphasis on Cabernet Sauvignon. Recent upgrades have elevated the winery into a standout landmark of the Helderberg region, attracting both local and international wine enthusiasts. With its sleek, contemporary design and refined atmosphere, the winery reflects a spirit of generosity and sophistication, capturing the essence of its Stellenbosch roots.

Deeply passionate about red varietals, Ernie remains actively involved in the tasting and development of each vintage. Working closely with winemaker Louis Strydom, their shared dedication is evident in the consistent quality found across the entire range.
