The tee box sits roughly 400 metres above the green below, creating a dramatic downhill shot of approximately 361 metres across a vast stretch of bushveld. The green itself is shaped like the African continent and surrounded by a large bunker, making accuracy just as important as distance.
The experience begins not on the tee, but in the air. Golfers board a helicopter from the main course and are flown to the mountaintop launch pad. As the aircraft climbs, sweeping views of the Entabeni wilderness unfold below — rugged mountains, open savannah, and wildlife roaming in the distance. After landing, players step onto a tee positioned dramatically close to the cliff edge, with nothing but open air between them and the green far below.
From this elevated vantage point, the shot becomes a once-in-a-lifetime moment. The ball can remain in the air for 20 to 30 seconds as it drops toward the Africa-shaped green, with spotters below tracking its landing zone by radio. The sheer vertical drop creates a surreal visual, where golfers watch their drive seemingly hang in space before descending toward the fairway.
